Pattern Instructions
Sizing Notes
- Starting chain fits size 37–38.
- Adjust for other sizes: Add or subtract 7cm of chains per size (see chart below).
- Size 36: -7cm, Size 39: +7cm, etc.
- The slipper easily fits adult sizes 33–43 using this adjustment.
Step 1: Crochet the Sole
- Chain 24 (for size 37–38). Adjust chains for desired size.
- Row 1 (Sole Foundation):
- Skip 2 chains from hook, then work 11 half double crochets (hdc) in the next 11 chains.
- Work 12 double crochets (dc) in the following 12 chains.
- In the same stitch as last dc, make 7 dc for the rounded toe turn.

- (Continue around other side of foundation chain)
- Work 12 dc down the other side.
- Finish with 11 hdc.
- At the heel, place 2 or 3 more dc to round the shape.
- Join with slip stitch in first hdc.
- Mark the center stitches at toe and heel with yarn/safety pin.
Step 2: Shape the Sole
- Round 2:
- Chain 3.
- Dc in each stitch to 2 dc before the toe marker.
- [At toe:] Increase: 2dc in next st, 3dc in marked st, 2dc in next st.

- Dc in each stitch to 2 dc before heel marker.
- [At heel:] Increase as at toe.
- Join with slip stitch, move markers to new center stitch of increases.
- Repeat once more for a total of 3 sole rounds, always increasing at toe and heel as above.
- Fasten off.
Step 3: Form the Slipper Body
- Attach yarn at the back (heel).
- Round 4:
- Relief round: Ch 3, front post dc (FPdc) around each stitch from previous round (from behind post).
- Sl st to join.
- Round 5:
- Ch 3, dc in back loops only around.
- Sl st to join.
- Round 6:
- Mark the center front stitch.
- Ch 3, dc in back loops only to 10 st before marker.
- Begin toe shaping with 5 decreases (dc2tog in back loops) on each side of center marker.
- Dc in back loops only to end.
- Sl st to join.
- Round 7:
- Ch 3, dc in back loops only, make 5 decreases each side of marker as above.
- Round 8:
- Repeat, working 10 decreases (dc2tog) across the toe section.
Step 4: Close the Toe
- Next round: dc in back loops around until toe decreases (10 st).
- For each decrease st, pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 (do not finish); leave all remaining loops on hook. When all toe stitches are on hook, pull yarn through all loops to close toe.
- Finish round normally.

Step 5: Seam the Instep
- Fold slipper so toe opening is closed, count 10 sts on each side.
- With yarn and tapestry needle, whipstitch or mattress stitch the 10 sts on each side together to form the top/toe.
Step 6: Finish Cuff
- Work three rounds of single crochet (sc) around the slipper opening.
- Ch 2 at start of each round; close with sl st at end of each round.
- Fasten off, weave in all ends.
Step 7: Make and Insert Laces
- With 3mm hook & white yarn: Chain 100–120 (approx. 1 meter).
- Fasten off, leaving a long tail.
- Thread tail onto tapestry needle and lace up through the front, criss-crossing as shown in the video, or as you’d lace a sneaker.

Step 8: Finishing Touches
- Tie laces, add knots at the ends, and trim excess.
- Weave in all ends securely.
- Make the second slipper to match!

Pro Tip
Want a snugger fit or firmer slipper? Use a smaller hook, or add an extra round of single crochet at the cuff. Try adding puffy paint dots to the sole for non-slip power.
