Siderite

SideriteA beautiful cream beige colored compressed rhomb or disc of Siderite proudly sits atop a mound of smaller Siderite crystals which are adorned by small, sparkling Pyrite crystals. The Siderites from this mine are not the typical blocky rhombic habit like those seen from a lot of other ore bodies in Colorado. This mine is long defunct and will never produce these specimens again. They are highly prized among Colorado collectors for their unique form and

as is the case with the majority of Ferberites from Tasna

This piece would make a great addition to any Colorado mineral suite

rich blue cubic crystal of this hard-to-find species on matrix

except for Huanuni and now defunct

or virtually any other country

but the color and form make it a worthwhile thumbnail of this classic material
