Crow Bird Amigurumi 2

Crow Body:

  1. Start with a magic ring of six to form the tip of the beak.
  2. Work up the next 15 rows following an increase pattern mainly in multiples of three to create a tapered, conical body shape.
  3. At the end of row 16, position the safety eyes on either side of row 8, ensuring they are symmetrically placed.
  4. Continue working up the body, strategically placing decreases to taper down to a point as you approach the end of the crow.
  5. Stuff the body firmly as you go, narrowing down to an opening of six stitches.
  6. Close the opening with the remaining tail, weaving through the stitches and pulling tight to create a "reverse magic ring" and hide the end inside.

Feet (Drumsticks):

  1. Start with a magic ring of six.
  2. Form the toes in the next round by making treble treble crochets into the front loop of stitches and slip stitches into the back loops.
  3. Work up the stem of the leg, avoiding the slip stitches and decreasing as necessary.
  4. Finish the legs with a "martini glass" shape at the top to attach to the body, increasing the stitch count to eight in the final row.

Wings:

  • Note the difference between the left and right wings after row 3.
  • Begin by creating an 18 single crochet disc.
  • Add lengthier feathers to the wings using stitches of increasing heights, such as half doubles, doubles, trebles, double trebles, and extending up to quadruple trebles for the right wing.
  • For the left wing, flip work after row 3 and repeat the feathers in the same order as the right wing.
  • Finish off the wings, leaving a long tail for attachment.

Key:

  • Start with a magic ring of 15 single crochet, forming an eyelet at the top.
  • Chain 10 and create teeth shapes along the chain using slip stitch techniques.
  • Finish off the structure of the key, leaving a tail for attachment.

Assembly:

  • Attach the legs between rows 14 and 19, taking care to position them for balanced standing.
  • Sew the wings onto the body, aligning the tip of the wing with the tail end of the crow.
  • Stitch on the whites of the eyes with a little bit of white yarn.
  • Attach the key by pinning it to the end of the beak and stitching it in place.

When finished sewing all parts together, you will have your very own Crochet Crow Bird Amigurumi. Feel free to name your creation and share your finished project on social media or with friends.
